Douglas M Trate, MD
Dr. Trate came to Boone in 1996 and worked with Western Carolina Digestive Diseases for one year before opening his own practice, Appalachian Gastroenterology, in 1997. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Pennsylvania and his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He did his post graduate training in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Temple University. Dr. Trate is certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Adrian D Qualls, PA-C
Adrian joined our practice in February, 2015. She is a native of Southeast Virginia and lived in northeast Tennessee before moving to Boone. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health at East Tennessee State University and her Master of Physician Assitant Studies at Lincoln Memorial University. We are honored to have her as part of our provider team.
Our Support Staff
Our Clinical Support Staff includes Registered Nurses and Certified Medical Assistants. Our Administrative Support Staff includes a Certified Gastroenterology Coding Specialist as well as holders of various business degrees. All of our staff is very experienced and highly trained. We are committed to giving you the best possible service at every phase of your visit with us.
